Redmi
Note 15 SE 5G India launch confirmed for April 2 with slim design and bold new
look

Redmi has revealed that its next Note-series launch in India would be on April
2. The company teased a Special Edition model before the announcement. Xiaomi
India's website already has a teaser for the Redmi Note 15 5G Special Edition,
and the dedicated event page uses the moniker Redmi Note 15 SE 5G. This shows
that the new phone is being marketed as a design-led addition to the current
Note 15 series.
Flipkart has already set up a webpage for the new phone, which is likely to go
on sale there. This is a clear launch announcement instead of a quiet listing
because of the early retail visibility and Xiaomi's teasing effort. It also
looks like Redmi is giving the Special Edition its own identity before it comes
out on April 2.
Based on what has been officially teased so far, it looks like Redmi is
focusing a lot on design. Xiaomi's event page says the phone is only 7.35mm
thick, and the teaser pictures show it in a bright red color with a gold-toned
frame that stands out. The presentation makes it seem like this iteration is
being sold more as a new look for the Redmi Note 15 formula than as a simple
update to the specs.
Reports about the teaser say that the Redmi Note 15 SE 5G might be based on the
New Year Cherry Red Edition of the Redmi Note 15 5G, which is only available in
China. However, Xiaomi has not officially acknowledged this link in product
copy. The red-and-gold treatment and the recognizable squircle-style back
camera module are just two of the design elements that have made that
expectation stronger.
Redmi hasn't yet released a full India spec sheet for the Special Edition when
it comes to hardware. The standard Redmi Note 15 5G in India, on the other
hand, already has a 6.77-inch curved AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3
chipset, a 108-megapixel rear camera setup, a 5,520mAh battery, and 45W fast
charging. This gives a good idea of what the Special Edition might keep if the
changes are mostly cosmetic.
The Redmi Note 15 5G came out in India on January 6, starting at Rs. 22,999.
People will be very interested in the price of the Special Edition when Xiaomi
makes the phone official next week. Until then, it looks like the corporation
is more interested in developing excitement about the finish, style, and
location than in giving out all the business information up front.
